York Model Railway Show 2016 – part 2

Continuing my report from the York Model Railway Show 2016, I’d like to mention the traders before moving on to more picture galleries.

There was a huge range of traders both large and small, covering a very broad range of scales and interests. The show organisers had secured a very interesting range and hadn’t fallen into the trap which affects Warley were there are lots of traders all selling the same thing. Everyone I spoke to was friendly and helpful. I’d like to pick out two in particular – Nick Tozer Railway Books, and Severn Models.

A conversation with Nick Tozer and his partner was very useful, and I shall be speaking to them in the future each time I’m looking for a book, especially those hard-to-find ones. http://www.railwaybook.com/

Andy, the Severn Models proprietor, has produced a small (but exquisitley formed) range of etched brass building and fittings for 2mm, 4mm and 7mm scales. They are not expensive and really have to be seen! The operating teams for Hope-under-Dinmore and Lee-on-Solent (nine of us) all bought at least one kit from Andy. http://severnmodels.com/

We were told by the Show’s organisers that this layout was actually brought to York from Greece!
